How to Submit an Event Listing
The Event Calendar lists campus activities and events that are open to the university community and other interested parties. In general, non Virginia Tech events are not authorized for inclusion on the Event Calendar.
Items for listing on the Event Calendar are submitted by authorized sponsors (colleges, departments, registered student organizations, etc.). It is the sponsor who determines which PIDs have access to post events. Please check the list of sponsors (current as of August 23 and subject to change) to see if a group already has access, then check with that group to determine who can post events. If the list of those with access needs to be updated, please have an officer or advisor for the organization send an e-mail to calendar@vt.edu requesting an update. If a department or organization is not on the list, you can register to become an authorized sponsor. Please have an officer or advisor for the organization send an e-mail to calendar@vt.edu requesting authorization and listing the PIDs that should have access.
To post an event once you are registered as a sponsor, simply click on "Event Calendar" on the university homepage or Virginia Tech News homepage; then click the "Update" tab (upper right-hand corner of page); Log In with your PID and password; and follow the simple instructions.
Events should be submitted at least two weeks prior to the event. Items for the Event Calendar are approved by the Virginia Tech News staff before being posted. Events submitted 48 hours before the event itself will not be approved.
